KBTX is seeking a camera/jib operator for its award winning pregame sports show, Aggie Gameday. Entering its 16th season, the show takes fans right up to kickoff with coverage of the Aggies and their opponent, tailgating, along with several special guests.
Camera operator basic operation, setup, and cabling of the cameras including, but not limited to: properly plugging in video cable; smoothly zooming, panning, and tilting; viewfinder operation including setting markers, viewing effects. Operator must have ability to follow instructions from show director(s) regarding various shot selections required for the broadcast; be attentive through the entire show; set the scripted shots in a timely manner; react quickly to last minute changes and direction. Operator will provide assistance to talent & guests throughout the show to ensure they are properly prepared for air. Operator will also assist with setup & breakdown of equipment.
Have the ability to quickly move the camera and tripod to a new position, focus and set the shot. The operator must also be able to stand operating the camera for an extended period of time, due to the length of the production. Must be able lift, carry(25lbs or more), and operate a hand held camera. This includes but is not limited to: properly framing shots; be able to provide a variety of shots (low, high, etc.); holding focus while moving; filter selection. Must be able to interpret show rundown information and anticipate show needs. This will include assisting talent & guests throughout the show.
Applicants must be available for ALL seven Aggie Gameday broadcasts. Applicants should have schedule flexibility, throughout the week, to visit the station prior to AGD shows for planning & debrief meetings. Show times will vary so applicants must have open availability for each Texas A&M home football game.
Must be willing to submit to a background check and have unrestricted authorization to work in the United States.
