A&M Consolidated High School committee prepares for centennial anniversary

COLLEGE STATION, Tex. (KBTX) - A&M Consolidated High School is turning 100 years old in 2020.

"A&M Consolidated High School has a long history. To me, a lot of important things happen in your life when you're going through high school. It makes an impression on you," said Brad Corrier, a former student.

To celebrate, a group of former Consolidated students and parents came together and formed a committee. The group is highlighting the school's history through a website, where they will showcase photos, historic documents, and alumni interviews.

They are also raising $100,000 on the website for a permanent endowment fund to give back to the school, students and faculty.

The website was created to honor the previous generations and share the school's history.

"The efforts of the different people in the past, we're standing on those people's shoulders and that is something worth celebrating. While the pictures may look different, and the school buildings look different, those relationships, those feelings when you get to high school, those were all the same, whether it was 1920 or 2020," Corrier said.
