A&M Regent Tony Buzbee gifting WWII tank to Texas A&M

COLLEGE STATION, Tex. (KBTX)- The public is invited to see a fully-restored WWII this weekend that's being gifted to Texas A&M by a member of the Board of Regents.

Tony Buzbee will be on campus Saturday from 9:30 a.m. to 10 a.m. when the tank goes on display in front of the Buzbee Leadership Learning Center at the Quad. After that, the tank will be on display for the remainder of the weekend.

The 32-ton WWII M4A4 Sherman tank spent 73 years in Normandy, France, said Buzbee. He purchased it and brought it back to the United States in 2017.

Buzbee announced his intention to run for mayor of the City of Houston once his regency expires.
