A&M political economist on escalating trade war between U.S. and China

The stock markets are down Monday following an escalation in the trade war between China and the United States.

China has announced a new round of tariffs in retaliation for American tariffs that kicked in last week.

Now, President Donald Trump has also ordered the raising of tariffs on an additional $300 billion worth of Chinese-made goods.

Raymond Robertson, a political economist at the Texas A&M Bush School of Government and Public Service, joined First News at Four to discuss the latest.
