HOUSTON, Tex. (KBTX) - A baby girl is missing after police say her mother was stabbed to death in a Houston neighborhood Tuesday morning.
Police said 6-week-old Shanally Flores was nowhere to be found when they arrived on the scene.
It was originally believed that the infant was taken by her father, Thomas Bernardez.
However, he was located in San Antonio late Tuesday night and police say he did not have the baby with him. Bernardez also claimed he was not involved in the mother's murder.
Now that the child's father has been ruled out as a person of interest, there is no new suspect information, Houston police said early Wednesday.
Shanally was last seen with her mother before she was killed. Officials say Shanally is 30 inches long and 20 pounds, is believed to be Honduran and possibly of black or mixed race origin.
Anyone with information on Shanally's whereabouts or her mother's murder is urged to contact the Houston Police Department at 713-308-3600 or Houston Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS.
