BRYAN, Tex. (KBTX) - More than 200 young volunteers from The Woodlands United Methodist Church are in town as part of their UM ARMY trip.

UM ARMY stands for United Methodist Action Reach-Out Mission by Youth. Some of the volunteers are special needs. A group was working to repair siding and painting a house on Florida Street in Bryan Tuesday.

"They have a wide variety of disabilities, but we want them to know they they know they can give back to our community. This is one way we've been able to impress upon them what they can do the help other people," said Erin Mayeux, The Woodlands United Methodist Church Youth and Special Needs Coordinator.

The special needs volunteers are commuting in each day while the majority of the group is being hosted at Christ United Methodist Church in College Station. The church wanted to host The Woodlands group after that church hosted the denomination's Annual Conference in The Woodlands earlier this summer.
