An Army Apache helicopter that made an emergency landing in a Grimes County field has been repaired and flown out.

The helicopter experienced a hydraulic leak in mid-flight Thursday and was forced to land in an empty field along County Road 215 south of Anderson, according to Grimes County Sheriff Don Sowell. The chopper had departed from a location in Bryan and was on its way to a location in Conroe.

Two people were on board, but were not hurt.

Mechanic crews responded to the scene to work on repairing the aircraft and it remained in the field overnight guarded, Sheriff Sowell said.

Around noon Friday with repairs made, the helicopter lifted off and made its way to Conroe.
