BCS Pokemon Go team raises money for Fun For All Playground
The BCS Pokemon Go team gets together each month to help out local charities and organizations around town. They decided to put their efforts toward the Fun For All Playground in College Station.
"The game started sponsoring a community day and we decided since everybody is coming out and participating in this community day it would be a great opportunity to give something back," said Katie Rader, member of the BCS Pokemon Go team.
When they meet up to play they pick a restaurant that will give back a portion of the sales to the charity they choose. Rader and the rest of the crew decided to raise funds for the Fun For All Playground, the future park designed for kids and adults with all kinds of disabilities. Over the last five months, they used profit shares to raise more than $700.
"There are so many people that play this game who will be able to use this playground as well so everybody's really excited to be able to do something like this for the community," said Rader.
Caleb Holt, the Fundraising Chair for Fun For All Playground said this is just one example of how giving our community is.
"That just goes to show you that you can have fun and you can do good at the same time and this group is doing a great job and already raising a ton of money with Fuddruckers and their profit share program," said Holt.
"It's such a great community and everybody's come together and raised this money really quickly and so we're just going to keep going and see how far we get," said Rader.
The group plans on doing more profit shares including one at Fuddruckers on Sunday, July 8th.
