Bryan police investigating 15 vehicle break-ins within 24 hours

BRYAN, Tex. (KBTX) - Bryan police are investigating another string of vehicle burglaries. They say over 15 crimes happened Sunday night into Monday morning, and all of them were in the south part of town.

Bryan police say all but two of the cars were unlocked.

Surveillance video from a home on Esther Boulevard show a man opening up a woman's car door and rummaging through. She said he doesn’t take anything, but it was enough to put her on edge.

"Yes it does scare me. It makes me uneasy," a resident said who doesn’t want to be identified.

Bryan police shared another video from Wayside Drive and said they believe the two incidents might be related.

"Some of the stuff, you work hard for, could be gone so, you just have to be on your toes and keep your eyes open," said Derapheal Arrington whose care was broken into Sunday night.

Arrington lives off Forest Bend where there were five break-ins. Just up the road on Forestwood Drive, there were four reported break-ins. Arrington says his car was unlocked and the thief took a jacket from inside.

"Papers and the insurance papers and CD's and change had been scattered around in the car," Arrington said.

Police say cars at Planet Fitness on Briarcrest Drive were also hit Monday morning. Police say those thieves smashed windows and stole credit cards and cash.

BPD says two cell phones, a gun and prescription drugs were also stolen from the unlocked cars. They are investigating all of these incidents and are asking for any surveillance video of the crimes.
