BVCASA fights opioid epidemic with new drop boxes

BRYAN, Tex. (KBTX) - The opioid epidemic is growing in the Brazos Valley and across the country. As President Trump, along with state and local leaders, take steps to combat the over-use and abuse of prescription drugs, one local organization has already begun to make a real difference with the creation of new drop boxes.

The drop boxes give people a safe place to dispose of unwanted and potentially dangerous drugs that have expired or are no longer needed. There are currently drop boxes in Hearne and at the Brazos Valley Sheriff's Office. BVCASA has been given funds for a new drop box which they hope to install in College Station.
