Benefit held for father, daughter killed on Highway 6

BRYAN, Tex. (KBTX) - A benefit was held Tuesday at Scurry Park in Bryan for the two people killed Friday night after being hit by a car.

Madora Swist and her father Charles Swist were attending to a stalled car on Highway 6 near FM 159 when they were hit.

Family and friends are gathering at the park to celebrate their lives.

Plates of chicken spaghetti were sold for $10 to raise money for final expenses and Madora's three boys. There was also a balloon release.

"Those are our babies now. If she were here she would do the same thing for mine or yours anybody else that's what she loved. She loved taking care of those kids, so those are my babies now and anybody else that's here we love we support them and that's why we're here," said Cherrelle Davis, a family friend.
