BRAZOS COUNTY, Tex. (KBTX)- A high-speed chase late Friday night in Brazos County ended with a deputy injured and four people detained.
The incident began just before 11 p.m. when deputies responded to calls of suspicious activity in an area of Sims Lane Cutoff and Sandy Point Road.
When deputies arrived, they noticed several vehicles leaving the area, and stopped one car with four people inside. The deputy noticed beer in the vehicle and a strong odor of alcohol.
While speaking with the occupants of the vehicle, the car sped off, striking the deputy on the right side of the head.
The vehicle was pursued by several law enforcement agencies and was eventually stopped by a spike strip on the west side of Brazos County.
Three of the passengers, including the driver, were under the age of 16.
Arturo Martinez, 21, the front seat passenger, was arrested for evading and providing alcohol to minors.
An arrest report did not make clear if the other three were arrested or what charges they'll be facing.
Mug shots were not available online at the time of this post.
