BRYAN, Tex. (KBTX) - Winter got a little warmer for hundreds of underprivileged kids in Bryan Wednesday, after the Bryan Firefighters Association handed out coats to those in need.

This year, the association raised $25,000 for Operation Warm. It's a program they've been doing for the last three years and this year they were able to provide 468 kids with coats and jackets.

Students from Mitchell Elementary, Navarro Elementary, Sul Ross Elementary, Henderson Elementary and Bonham Elementary received the coats.

"This really is everything to us. I have children and I know how excited they get so to be able to put a smile on someone's face, whether its an adult or kid, but especially a kid is just so special," said Bryan Firefighter and Chair of Operation Warm Dustin Nash.

The association says this was the most money they've ever raised for Operation Warm and they hope to continue the trend and provide jackets for years to come.
