BRYAN, Tex. (KBTX) - Bryan ISD is gearing up for some big projects this summer after voters overwhelmingly approved a $12 million bond.

The Bryan ISD Board of Trustees held a board meeting on Tuesday to take action and move forward with the bond, signing off on the specific projects that it will fund.

The projects include new roofs, security upgrades, and school bus replacements. Many will begin as early as this summer.

"We know that [these are] big projects," said Bryan ISD Superintendent Christie Whitbeck. "But we are getting on it and moving as fast as we can to affect children as early as possible next year."

Bids for new roofing at Bryan High School and M.C. Harris High School will be presented at the next board meeting.
