Bryan man arrested for driving with unbuckled kids, crystal meth in car

BRYAN, Tex. (KBTX) - A Bryan man is in custody after authorities say he drove with three unbuckled children and crystal meth in his car.

Bryan Police say Elmar Gillaspie, 41, made a wide turn onto Wellborn Road near Holleman Drive around 9:30 Sunday night.

After pulling him over, officers say Gillaspie tried to get out of the car.

When they looked in the back seat, police say they saw three unsecured children.

Officers also found a small amount of crystal meth and a pipe in the front seat.

Gillaspie was arrested and charged with child endangerment and possession of a controlled substance.

The front seat passenger, Lanita Lewis, 32, was arrested for marijuana possession as well as possession of a controlled substance.
