BRYAN, Tex. (KBTX) - UPDATE: The Bryan Police Department says a missing child has been found.

Gabriel Micheal Rodriguez, 8, was reported missing by his parents.

Officers say that when the child heard that police were looking for him, he began to return home. That is when officers found him and took him to his custodial parent.

"It was determined that he spent the night with a friend, and the family believed he had permission to be there," Bryan police said in a statement. "Officers are working with CPS to make sure he continues to be safe."

The Bryan Police Department is asking for your help in locating a missing child.

Gabriel Micheal Rodriguez, 8, was last seen riding his bike with a friend near his home in the 2900 block of Stevens Drive around 6:00 or 7:00 p.m. March 13. His parents have reported him missing, but police don't believe there is any foul play involved.

Rodriguez is described as a white male, 4 foot tall, weighing 100 pounds. He was wearing a white and light green shirt and black shorts. He was riding a dark grey bike with green rims.

Officers are searching the area he was last seen. BPD sent out a reverse 911, asking for residents in the area to be on the lookout.
