CASA to host event to address need for Burleson County volunteers

BURLESON COUNTY, Tex. (KBTX)- Join Voices for Children, CASA of the Brazos Valley for happy hour at Funky Junky in Caldwell, on Tuesday, May 28.

It will be a casual come-and-go event from 5:30 PM to 6:30 PM with a brief presentation at 5:30 PM by Anjuli Renold, Voices for Children’s Executive Director.

The event, Happy Hour with CASA, will inform attendees about Voices for Children and specifically how the program serves their community. Right now, Voices for Children is in need of more volunteers from
Burleson County.

The program serves 47 foster kids in Burleson County but only has 3 volunteers from the region.

Voices for Children board member and Burleson County resident, Brittany McManus, said, “Once I learned about VFC and CASA, I was sold! This is such an amazing organization that helps advocate for
the youth of our county.

A CASA volunteer gives children a voice for their life and for their future. I know that there are so many wonderful people in our community that want to help children but just don't know how. The majority of the people that I speak to in Burleson county have never heard about CASA. This
is a perfect opportunity to learn more about VFC and becoming a CASA volunteer.”

Happy Hour with CASA wants to stress the effect a volunteer from Burleson County has on an abused or neglected child in their community in hopes of solving the shortage of volunteers from the area.

Volunteers for Voices for Children can make an immediate and lasting impact on a child by giving them a voice at a critical turning point in their life.

Voices for Children will host two more CASA volunteer trainings in 2019 in both June and September.
