COLLEGE STATION, Tex. (KBTX) - College Station Police have arrested a juvenile for making a terroristic threat against other students at Cypress Grove Intermediate School in the College Station Independent School District.
In a release, CSPD said they got information about a possible threat Tuesday afternoon. Officers were told that a student in CSISD made a threat to shoot other students attending school.
Investigators believe the student's threat was credible and that he intended to scare a "substantial" group of people with serious bodily injury. The juvenile was arrested and charged with terroristic threat.
Terroristic Threat (Penal Code Section 22.07(5)): A person commits an offense if he threatens to commit any offense involving violence to any person or property with intent to place the public or a substantial group of the public in fear of serious bodily injury
Terroristic Threat is a Class “B” Misdemeanor punishable by confinement in jail for a term not to exceed 180 days and a fine not to exceed $2,000.
There is currently no danger to the public. This case remains under investigation and additional charges are possible. Anyone with information regarding this incident is encouraged to contact the College Station Police Department at 979-764-3600.
