BURLESON COUNTY, Tex. (KBTX) - UPDATE: Superintendent Andrew Peters told KBTX Jamie Goforth resigned Thursday February 15th. There was a special meeting of the Caldwell ISD school board set for Thursday. That meeting was cancelled after Mrs. Goforth's resignation.
The Burleson County Sheriff's Office is investigating a case of an improper relationship between a teacher and student at Caldwell High School.
On February 2, school officials notified the Sheriff's office and the investigation began immediately. The investigation showed 37-year-old Jamie Goforth had a relationship with a 15-year-old male student that began in October of 2017.
A warrant was issued for Goforth's arrest on February 9, but when the Sheriff's office attempted to locate her they discovered she possibly left Burleson County. Goforth turned herself in on Sunday.
She's being charged with Improper Relationship Between Educator and Student. She is currently being held in Burleson County Jail on $10,000 bond.
Jamie Goforth is the wife of Caldwell ISD athletic director Bobby Jack Goforth.
