Credit card skimming devices found at Bryan gas station

BRYAN, Tex. (KBTX) - Bryan police say they found card skimming devices Monday at the Valero gas station in the 4600 block of E. 29th street.

Police officers were seen at the convenience store Monday morning.

Bryan police say two skimming devices were placed on the pumps sometime between the business closing on June 9 and opening on June 10. Customers who used the pumps on the northern side of the business close to the Redbox machine are advised to check their accounts.

Small devices implanted by thieves in fuel pumps, called skimmers, illegally collect consumers credit or debit card information when they gas up. The devices are being found in pumps all over the state.

The Texas Department of Agriculture is responsible for inspecting all gas pumps in the state for accuracy and fuel quality. Commissioner Miller in 2017 said he has made it a priority for TDA inspectors to also check for these illegal skimming devices. Click here to see a video showing how you can avoid being skimmed.
