BRENHAM, Tex. (KBTX)- A Washington County community is preparing to celebrate the life of a young man who recently graduated from Brenham High School.

Rhead Yocum Robbins, 18, died early Monday morning in a one-vehicle rollover crash on FM 2621 northeast of Brenham. Troopers say he was attempting to take a curve in the road and lost control of his pickup.

Robbins will be remembered at a Celebration of Life event planned for Thursday, July 25 at 6:00 p.m. at St. Pauls' Evangelical Lutheran Church.

July 25th would have been his 19th birthday.

"Following the worship service, friends and family are invited to the Fellowship Hall to enjoy a light meal with the family and continue celebrating Rhead's amazing life on earth and his glorious, new life in heaven," said Matthew Bryan at St. Paul's Lutheran Church.

"Rhead’s remains have been donated to the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center for research, in accordance with his wishes. This was something that was very important to him," said Bryan.

A special fund to support the Robbins family has been set up at Citizens State Bank, 2007 S. Day Street in Brenham.
