COLLEGE STATION, Tex. (KBTX) - The City of College Station is turning 80 years old and to celebrate, it is inviting citizens to a little-known park tucked away near the heart of the city.
On Sunday, Oct. 21, community members will head to Richard Carter Park to enjoy a number of activities, booths, tours and to learn about what the city was like in its earliest days.
Named after one of the city's early settlers, Richard Carter Park is located at 1800 Brazoswood Dr. behind Baylor Scott and White near University Dr. and Highway 6.
The event is free to attend and begins at 2 p.m.
