COLLEGE STATION, Tex. (KBTX) - A busy road in Bryan and College Station could soon have a new designation.
State Representative John Raney is working on a plan to designate a portion of Texas Avenue in Bryan and College Station as the Carolyn and John David Crow Memorial Parkway. Crow won the Heisman Trophy at Texas A&M University in 1957.
The designation would be on Texas Avenue from Villa Maria Road in Bryan to Krenek Tap Road in College Station.
College Station's City Council will look at a resolution supporting those efforts Thursday night.
"The memories I have of John David and of course being here in College Station knowing of his legacy with Aggieland and especially with football here and as athletic director it really kind of tugs on my heart strings to see that happen," said Mayor Karl Mooney of College Station.
Mooney added he hopes the conversations go well at the meeting Thursday night.
Crow passed away in 2015 at the age of 79.
