College Station Police Department debuts inclusive egg hunt at local Easter celebration

COLLEGE STATION, Tex. (KBTX) At the 38th annual College Station Easter Celebration, the College Station Police Department Bomb Squad debuted their "Beeping Egg Hunt" for the blind and visually impaired community.

Tiffany Campbell is a mother of two children who have Septo-optic dysplasia; meaning they have small optic nerves, which makes spotting things like easter eggs hard.

But thanks to College Station Police, the Campbell children got to hunt eggs for the first time in their lives. The bomb squad built special eggs that make a beeping noise so the egg-hunting participants can find them.

"They don't get an opportunity to do this ever, so it was nice to bring that opportunity to them and let them come out and have a good time," said CSPD Bomb Squad Commander Sgt. Blaine Krauter.
