College Station store accepting used toys for cash

If you’re looking to get rid of some old toys after Christmas, you might want to check out stores like Once Upon A Child in College Station.
Local non-profits say used toys that get donated can’t be given out due to liability or risk of recall. That’s where stores like Once Upon A Child can help.
“If you have any toys laying around, just brush off the dust and bring them in. We’ll take a look at it and check for safety,” said Lissette Palacious, sales associate at Once Upon A Child.
They accept toys, shoes and children’s clothing that are in good condition. They even pay you for the items they choose to take off your hands.
Ryan Varnadore is a frequent shopper and says it’s a great place to sell and buy things that your kids will outgrow.
“I get to bring them in, and then I can get store credit, and buy the new ones that she needs. It's a really a good process,” said Varnadore.
Organizations such as Salvation Army and Habitat for Humanity don’t accept toy donations. The best way to help these organizations out is to give monetary donations. This will help them purchase specific items they need to continue helping others.
