PLANTERSVILLE, Tex. (KBTX) - Safety improvements are coming to a busy intersection in Grimes County.
New westbound lanes are being added onto Highway 105 and FM 1774 is also being widened.
TxDOT said there have been delays with underground water flowing at the work site.
The Grimes County judge is pleased to see the safety improvements.
“It’s going to make the turn lanes safer, instead of the through traffic getting backed up waiting for someone to turn the designated left and right turns. And that’s going to occur on 1774 and on 105," said Joe Fauth, Grimes County Judge.
He said an esplanade will also be added to separate east and westbound traffic.
TxDOT believes that project should be finished by November.
