BRYAN, Tex. (KBTX) - A convicted murderer is back in a Brazos County courtroom this week.
John Thuesen was convicted and sentenced to death in 2010 for the death of Rachel Joiner and her brother Travis. His case is back in the 272nd District Court as part of the appeals process. Thuesen and Rachel were dating before her murder.
The defense is calling experts and witnesses to talk about Thuesen's post-traumatic stress disorder after he served in the military.
His defense team is arguing the PTSD wasn't properly addressed during the capital murder trial.
