COLLEGE STATION, Tex. (KBTX)- We're getting our first look at College Station's new city hall building.

The city council on Thursday gave its approval to the exterior design which also went through a architectural subcommittee of the city council.

The project will run an estimated $33-million and groundbreaking is expected in fall of 2019.

"We wanted to exemplify classic Texas, class municipal architecture, and we wanted it to speak to the history and origin of College Station," said City Councilman James Benham.

The new city hall will replace the aging building on Texas Avenue on the same property.
