Normangee shooting suspect captured

NORMANGEE, Tex. (KBTX)- Cooperation between law enforcement in two counties led to the capture of a man wanted for a shooting in Normangee.

According to the Madison County Sheriff's Office, on Thursday, Mario Lopez fired several shots at at a truck on Bailey Street in Normangee. Authorities believe that drugs may have led to the shooting.

Lopez fled the scene and was considered armed and dangerous, which prompted a search for him across multiple counties.

Around 10 p.m. Thursday, the Robertson County Sheriff's Office reported they had found and arrested Lopez. They are expected to turn him over to Madison County Sheriff's for prosecution on Friday.

No one was hurt in the shooting.
