BRYAN-COLLEGE STATION, Tex. (KBTX)- Independent retail owners and store managers throughout Bryan and College Station are gearing up for Small Business Saturday on November 26th.
Small Business Saturday encourages spending at independent stores following the Black Friday door-busters offered from most major, national retail chains.
This event first launched in 2010, and a year later, President Obama voiced his support, and even made Small Business Saturday an official day. Last year, consumers spent more than $14 billion at small businesses on this single day.
Kelli Hollinger, Director of Texas A&M University’s Center for Retailing Studies at Mays Business School was on Monday's First News at Four to discuss Small Business Saturday. To see the interview, click on the video attached to this story.
