ANGUS, Texas (KBTX)- Nearly 70 dogs were removed from a home Wednesday in rural Navarro County.

Navarro County deputies and representatives of the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals removed the 68 animals from a home in the 7100 block of South Interstate 45 in Augus, the Navarro County Sheriff’s Office said in brief Facebook post.

“The elderly owner had become overwhelmed and so he voluntarily surrendered the animals so they could receive proper care,” the post said.

No further details were immediately available.
