BRYAN, Tex. (KBTX) A Bryan family is safe after a tree crashed into the roof of their house during an overnight storm.

It happened just before 3:00 a.m. Friday morning near the 600 block of Pine St.

According to Christina Martinez, she heard thunder and rain just outside her bedroom before aloud crash happened and then the power went out.

"I literally raised my arms because I knew it was the tree like 'oh my gosh it's about to start tumbling on us' and then all of a sudden it just stopped," Martinez said. "My husband and I jumped and my grandson was sleeping with us. It definitely scared us but it sounded like a tornado."

The Bryan Fire Department was called to the house to check out of any damage to nearby power lines but luckily there was no damage.
