BRYAN, Tex. (KBTX) - A night full of fashion kicked off a three part event to raise money for a local charity on Thursday.
The Fashion Event had their first fashion show Thursday evening in Downtown Bryan.
The annual show features designers from around the globe along with local boutiques and businesses.
This year the event chose the Mercy Project to raise money for. They are a local non-profit who help free enslaved child workers in Ghana.
"This event will raise enough money for us to rescue an entire village of children. That will allow us to bring an economic empowerment project to a community, teach them a new way of making money, they'll voluntarily release the kids that are working currently, and we'll be able to reunite those kids back with their families," said Chris Field, founder of Mercy Project.
The event will continue on Friday and Saturday night at the Icehouse in downtown Bryan.
