Food Truck Friday with 1775 Texas Pit BBQ
1775 Texas Pit BBQ serves up prime brisket, duroc pork ribs, sausage, smoked turkey, and more at their location on Raymond Stotzer Parkway in College Station.
Army veteran and owner Brad Doan worked in the corporate BBQ business for nearly a decade before branching out on his own.
"When I got out of the service, I was looking for what my next career path was and kind of fell into working at a BBQ chain as a busboy, cashier. I got into the kitchen area and learned the pits and stuff like that and that's when I really when I fell in love with the cooking aspect of BBQ," explained Doan.
Doan got the pit built in 2016 and opened his trailer in October of 2017. 1775 Texas Pit BBQ is located at 8203 Raymond Stotzer Parkway in College Station. They are located about ten minutes away from Texas A&M's campus and about four minutes away from Easterwood Airport.
The meat is cooked low and slow and they have a trailer for catering and events.
Belinda Doan, Brad's mom, cooks up made from scratch side dishes. They always have pinto beans and rotate serving corn casserole, potato salad, mashed potato bake, and more.
Typically, 1775 Texas Pit BBQ is open Thursday through Saturday from 11:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. It is fairly common for them to sell out, so they suggest getting there early so you can choose from the full selection.
Since they do close to the public when they do catering and events, they suggest calling or checking their Facebook page before heading out.
There is a link to their Facebook page under the related links section of this page. You can give Brad a call at (979) 492-6241.
