Former youth coach indicted on child sexual assault charge in Brazos County

BRAZOS COUNTY, Tex. (KBTX)- A youth track coach from Sherman, Texas has been indicted on a Sexual Assault of a Child charge in Brazos County.

A Department of Public Safety report says the assault happened last summer at a Bryan motel.

Keith Craddock, 31, and the 16-year-old accuser were in town for a track meet.

The teen told investigators Craddock entered her hotel room in the middle of the night by using a "coach's key card" and sexually assaulted her.

According to the DPS report, Craddock admitted to the sexual assault and claimed the accuser entered his room first and then lied about her age.

Investigators were able to recover cell phone data from Snapchat that revealed the accuser sent several sexually explicit photographs and videos to Craddock in July 2018.

Craddock was released on a $100,000 bond from the Brazos County jail on May 2, 2019.
