BRYAN, Tex. (KBTX) - A Franklin man is facing a manslaughter charge almost two years to the day after an accident that killed his wife.

James Fuchs, Jr., was arrested July 1, 2019, and charged in the fatal crash. Authorities say that Fuchs ran a red light at Highway 6 and Old Reliance on his motorcycle and hit a car back on July 8, 2017.

His wife Melissa was thrown off and later died from her injuries. Investigators say neither was wearing a helmet.

KBTX is checking with investigators on why it has taken two years for Fuchs to be charged in her death.
