COLLEGE STATION, Tex. (KBTX) Members in the community gathered Tuesday morning for the ground breaking of the first St Jude Dream Home Showplace.

Magruder and Pitman Custom Homes and St. Jude Children's Research Hospital were on hand for the groundbreaking in the Mission Ranch Community in College Station.

The home is expected to be finished by April 2019. All the proceeds from the buying of the home will go back to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital for research.

"We are so fortunate to have the community here in Bryan College Station come together to build this home because we are helping children all over the world, all over the country and even right here in the community," said Minerva Suarez of St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.

The house will be located near the 1700 block of Blanco Bend Road in the Mission Ranch Community in College Station.

All the money and supplies used to build to the house were donated.
