Habitual Burleson County felon headed to prison

BURLESON COUNTY A habitual felon and convicted child molester is headed to prison.

A Burleson County jury sentenced Elwood Hoover, 53, to 60 years on drug related charges.

Hoover was arrested by a Burleson County deputy after a concerned citizen reported a suspicious vehicle. Hoover was asleep in the vehicle, partially blocking the caller's driveway and a public roadway.

The sheriff's office says Hoover had an outstanding warrant, and deputies also found drugs in his possession.

The jury also heard about Hoover's past felony convictions including 3 counts of sexual assault of a child in 2011, and another drug conviction in Dallas County in 1986.
