Hard Freeze WARNING issued for portions of the Brazos Valley

BRYAN, Tex (KBTX) - A 10 to 12 hour freeze is on deck for the Brazos Valley.

A Hard Freeze WARNING means there is a potential for temperatures to sit below 25° for two hours or more overnight. Right now, we're not expecting such low temperatures in Bryan-College Station, but it will be very close. In the meantime, it's best to enact your freeze preparations, like bringing in animals and sensitive plants.

In addition, covering exposed outdoor pipes or allowing them to drip overnight is a good practice when a hard freeze is possible.

The record low tonight for Bryan-College Station is 25°, set back in 1911. That 108-year-old record will wobble but may be able to remain in the books for another year.
