HEARNE, Tex. (KBTX)- The Hearne Police Department is keeping details of a death investigation very limited, including any possible danger that may exist to the public.
Around 8:30 p.m. Saturday night, paramedics were called to the 800 block of Riley Street for a shooting, according to police scanner traffic.
On Sunday morning, Hearne police released a statement saying officers were notified of a deceased individual inside a home. The statement also said the Texas Rangers and the District Attorney's Office are assisting in the investigation.
We followed up on Sunday with Hearne City Manager John Naron, who said the statement released to the media was approved by the District Attorney's Office and the police department isn't allowed to release any other details.
KBTX asked if there's any danger to the public, if any suspect is in custody, or a possible cause of death, but Naron declined to comment.
