Huntsville ISD coach arrested from improper relationship

A coach at Huntsville High School has been charged with having an improper relationship with a student.

According to police reports, Dillon Gaffney was arrested on an out of county warrant out of Matagorda County.

He is listed as the head women's soccer coach and social studies teacher on Huntsville ISD's Website

Gaffney was transferred to the Matagorda County jail following his arrest.

Reports indicate he was a coach and teacher at Palacios ISD when the improper relationship took place.

In a statement Huntsville ISD said in part:

"the district was made aware of the arrest of an employee. The charges against the employee do not involve any Huntsville ISD student. While personnel matters are confidential, the Huntsville ISD community and stakeholders can be assured that swift action will be taken."
