Franklin, Tex. (KBTX) To lend a helping hand while the City of Franklin recovers from an EF-3 tornado, a charity group within Nucor Steel Texas in Jewett took time out Sunday to prepare meals for first responders and residents who lost their homes.
"..houses ripped off their foundation, it's cars turned upside down, it's everything you can name, and it's really really sobering to see what some of those families are going through, so it's the least we can do to help them and help them put a few pieces back together," said Al Behr, the Nucor Steel Texas General Manager.
In total, they made 450 meals packages including fresh-cooked sausage wraps, chips, cookies, and drinks. They handed them out for free, and also drove them out to the families and first responders as they worked.
