BRYAN, Tex. (KBTX) - Bryan police arrested a man from Joshua for stealing over 1,000 golf balls from a local golf club.

Officers pulled over Shane Mix, 43, around 10:30 p.m. Tuesday for an expired paper tag.

He was hauling a trailer with a golf cart, but officers noticed the cart had recently been spray painted black.

After a closer look, authorities found about 1,404 practice balls labeled with the club's logo. Management from the golf club said the balls were stolen from the driving range and worth a total of $3,500.

Mix was arrested and charged with theft. He was also wanted on warrants from Denton County and Johnson County.
