Man accused of stealing car in Bryan identified after manhunt, arrest

BRYAN, Tex. (KBTX) - The man accused of stealing a car from an H-E-B store in Bryan and leading authorities on a manhunt Monday afternoon has been identified.

Jimmie Randall McCullough, Jr., 32, is in the Brazos County jail and facing multiple charges including evading arrest.

Bryan police say McCullough jumped into an unoccupied, unlocked vehicle in the parking lot of H-E-B on E. Villa Maria Road. The victim and a good samaritan followed the vehicle until losing sight of it near Highway 6 and Briarcrest.

A Brazos County Precinct 2 Constable found it parked on a gravel road along the Highway 6 northbound feeder road between Briarcrest and University Drive.

McCullough was standing the near the vehicle and ran into a wooded area after spotting the constable, authorities said.

Following a manhunt involving multiple law enforcement agencies, McCullough was taken into custody by a DPS trooper.

Online jail records show McCullough is from Andrews, Texas.
