Local charity and car dealership partner to give car to single mom

COLLEGE STATION, Tex. (KBTX)- OnRamp, a local automotive charity, partnered with Douglass Nissan to gift a reliable SUV to a hard-working mom of four.

Susie Elias was sponsored to OnRamp by Habitat for Humanity BCS. She has already qualified to receive a house from Habitat, and has done everything they’ve required.

However, her current car is on its last leg, endangering her ability to keep the job she’s had for the last five years. Without reliable transportation, employment, housing, health care, child care, and community involvement are all at risk.

Fortunately, a generous family at Grace Bible Church donated a 2009 Nissan Murano. All it needed was a new transmission, which Douglass Nissan generously provided for less than half price.

BCS Tires and Lift provided new tires free of charge and Maldonado Detailing made sure the car was spotless.

Susie’s friends and families gathered with these partners and sponsors at Douglass’ showroom Saturday morning as she was handed the keys to her new ride. Now she can keep her family on track for a new house.
