COLLEGE STATION, Tex. (KBTX) - Dinner Under the Stars is coming up on Sunday, January 14th.

It's a chance to eat a delicious five course chef-prepared meal while supporting local students in culinary arts programs.

The event is put on by five local chefs and the culinary arts departments at College Station and Rudder High Schools.

The money raised helps the school programs buy new equipment, send students to culinary competitions, and more.

This partnership also helps build relationships between the students and our local professionals.

"They graduate high school with a huge set of job skills and they are ready to go to work so this helps us to establish industry contacts within our own community so they know what kids of jobs are here," explained Catherine Parsi, the culinary arts instructor at College Station High School.

Chef Gutierrez of Poppy, Chef Best of Urban Table by Chef Tai, Chef Wright of Grub Burger Bar, and Chef Horvath and Chef Baker from the Hilton in College Station are all participating in the event.

The students will be helping serve all of the food during the event.

The dinner is from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. on Sunday, January 14th.
