Local man arrested for discharging rifle during dispute at apartment complex

COLLEGE STATION, Tex. (KBTX)- A domestic dispute at a local apartment complex resulted in several shots being fired, but no one hit.

It happened Saturday night in the 700 block of Dominik Drive in College Station.

Police said Evan Lawrence Harris, 32, showed up at the apartment, forced his way inside, and began physically fighting the resident over a private matter.

The victim said Harris left the apartment, went to his car, and retrieved a rifle. He then proceeded to fire it multiple times but never hit anyone.

Harris left the area and said "I'll be back tomorrow," according to an arrest affidavit. He was located a short time later at a residence in Bryan and arrested.

Police say the gun he used had serial numbers that had been removed.

Harris is charged with:
-Tampering with ID numbers on personal property
-Deadly conduct by discharging a firearm
-Burglary of a habitation
-Aggravated assault with a deadly weapon
