BRYAN, Tex. (KBTX)- Judge Kyle Hawthorne, 85th Dist. Court, sentenced Reginald Thomas to 99 years in prison for molesting a child.
Thomas was convicted by a jury in October, 2016, but the sentencing phase was reset until February 2, 2017. It was reported he molested the child over a three month period, from July 2014 through October 2014.
The jury deliberated for about an hour before convicting Thomas.
The court heard more evidence during the sentencing phase of trial.
Thomas was on bond for felony drug possession when he committed the sexual assault and he had two pending DWIs.
He also had a very long criminal history which was presented
through numerous judgments.
Assistant District Attorneys John Brick and Philip McLemore prosecuted the case on behalf of the State of Texas.
