Local man visits College Station IHOP every day for the last 34 years
For more than 30 years, one man has been showing up every single day to the IHOP in College Station.
"He's like a breath of fresh air," said Shawn Hardy, an employee at IHOP.
"Mr. Jack" started visiting the restaurant 34 years ago. He now stops in three times a day.
"February 1, 1985 I retired from the Bryan post office. I came up here and had coffee and read the paper and I just happened to sit at table 12. This is table 12 and I've been here nearly every day since," said Jack Worbington also known as "Mr. Jack."
The staff has become family.
"We have a good time up here," said Jack.
"It means a lot to each and every one of us when he comes," said Patricia Brown, a waitress.
Jack is 89-years-old and has spent nearly his whole life in Bryan/College Station.
"August, I'll be living in Bryan 82 years. I'm glad to see that I've lived long enough. I understand A&M is the largest university in Texas now. We finally beat TU in something," said Jack.
