BRYAN, Tx. (KBTX)- The Bryan College Station Model Railroad Society held its semi-annual open house inviting the community to view their miniature locomotives.

The society showed off their trains, and miniature cities to the public, educating kids about model trains at Bonham Park in Bryan.
Stephen and Ashley Behrens came out to the park because their son is a big fan of trains

“He loves Thomas the tank engine, and all trains, so we figured this was a good opportunity to see all the trains,” says Stephen Behren

Ashley says, “I like the different setups and miniatures, different scenes, it was really neat.”

David Martin, the President of the BCS Model Railroad Society says they put this free event on for the kids.

“Most rewarding part is seeing the kids’ faces. that’s what I enjoy, they come out and have a good time,” says Martin.

The event also featured a scavenger hunt for the kids to partake in.

“Seeing the kids’ faces finding things on our scavenger list they just have a ball with that -we got graveyards man on a throne bears campers campfires so we have got a number of things,” Martin says.

The society will be holding a two-day open house this fall, and invite anybody interested in model trains to join them Monday nights at 7:30 p.m. at Bonham Park for their weekly meetings.
